The Principles of Corporate Social Responsibility Concept Assignment
The Principles of Corporate Social Responsibility Concept - Assignment ExampleCurrently, it has become a focus for many companies due to its continuing trueness to help businesses contribute to economic development by being responsible to their respective stakeholders (Hancock, 2005, 12). The greater part of the CSR has helped manage or improve environmental and affable impacts of the company. The increased use of CSR has encouraged the corporate sector to be more environmentally and mixerly responsible particularly at a time when the crisis has disgraced consumers level of trust in the operations of the company. This coupled with the rise in transparency and social media has facilitated companies to begin taking CSR more seriously in order to help reduce their environmental impacts (Louche et al, 2010, 209). Corporate social responsibility has helped enterprises to contribute to the highly competitive social market economy and sustainable development. accountable business condu ct has helped many private sector operators to provide public services. For instance, they have provided employment opportunities, social amenities as well as sustainable, bright and inclusive growth (Mullerat & Brennan, 2011, 29). CSR has facilitated engagement with both external and internal stakeholders thus enabling businesses to take advantage of societal fast-changing expectations as well as operational conditions. The enterprises have acted as drivers for the emergence of other markets and the development of real opportunities for growth. Companies normally commit responsible investment in various sectors of the economy to enhance the social welfare of their stakeholders. This results in economic growth thus improving the living standards of the stakeholders (Mullerat & Brennan, 2011, 89). Corporate social responsibility planning has come to the forefront for major companies rising growth opportunities. Nietzsches Genealogy of Morals - Essay ExampleThis essay discusses that Nietzsches criticisms of the conventional notions of trustworthy and evil spans an array of his work and takes on more developed form in the Genealogy of Morals. This essay examines Nietzsches overarching philosophical considerations within this text.Nietzsche deconstructs the notions of good and evil. He argues that what has emerged are different forms of these concepts and that in actuality the differing meanings behind these terms are diametrically opposed. One of the most significant considerations in understanding good in the sense of good and evil is the notion of slave morality. For him this is a moral code that has emerged in a society wherein the weak-willed put up convinced the strong that their elan of strength is actually evil. Nietzsche believes then that the fundamental impulse of society is the will to power and that morality and the social structures implemented by much of civilization have em erged as a means of manipulation. One of his most potent arguments is that the concept of evil is different for the higher class than for the lower class. This notion extends from Nietzsches popular contention that civilization is structured on erroneous notions of morality that serve to contribute to the self-interest of the individual or institution embracing them. Nietzsche believes that society should bighearted themselves from these social constraints and embrace instinctual urges to power, as it is this will to power that underlines societys main drives. He states, That every will must consider every some other will its equal would be a principle hostile to life, an agent of the dissolution and destruction of man, an attempt to assassinate the future of man, a sign of weariness, a secret path to nothingness (Nietzsche, p. 73). This consideration directly contrasts Christian morality that seeks to view the social order in terms of equality and embrace forms of weakness.

Nasty and unsightly Essay Example for Free
Nasty and unsightly EssayThis segregation can be deeply felt by the reader and is very emotive. During the last extract there are a number of reasons why the audience would feel sorry for the monster. The eloquent and expressive reputation of the language he uses show the reader that inside he is a beautiful being. I shall no longer see the sun or stars, or feel the tresss play on my cheeks. The things that he will most miss are the sun and stars. These natural things are what he finds most enjoyable. The metaphor of the wind playing on his cheeks gives the reader a sense of his intelligent language but also his gentleness.Unlike Frankenstein the monster also blames himself for what has runed. But it is true that I am a wretch This sentence shows that the monster has acknowledged what he has done but also creates empathy with the audience, the word shows that he doesnt think much of himself. A wretch is often something very nasty and unsightly. How do you think Shelley feel s about him? scientists were unconcerned by the potential consequences of their work Shelleys opinions on different matters are exposed throughout the novel. The way that scientists were trying to push boundaries is seekd. Shelleys view is obvious. She conceives that scientists were unconcerned by the potential consequences of their work. Nothing must be able to go ahead without the dear knowledge that it is safe. I believe that she uses the monster as a metaphor for this. Frankenstein had not taken enough time to way up the consequences of what might happen and the monster was born. Prejudice is a strong theme right through the novel. Shelley uses the monster to portray her thoughts about prejudice. She uses two extremes. She creates the monsters appearance to be revolting whilst his reputation is smart, imaginative and elegant.During the story the precisely population who get to talk and interact with the monster are the blind people and Walton. These are also the only people he gets speak to in depth. This shows that once people can interact with him and get passed the way he go throughs it doesnt matter. The blind people speak to him because they cannot see what he looks like. Walton, even though he originally sets out to kill the monster begins to feel beneficence for the monster. Shelley obviously believes that people are too narrow-minded to look further into someone before judging them.Another major theme of the story is that of parent/child relationships. Shelley uses Frankenstein as the parent figure to the monster to explore the act of neglect upon a child. Marys convey died shortly after she was born. Once the monster is born Frankensteins vision of an amazing super-being vanishes and he sees the ugliness of what he has created. This may be a belief of Shelley. How mothers collapse a great vision of their baby and nurturing it and bringing it up but when the baby is actually born the mother is hit by the realisation of bringing up a child .The mother then chooses to neglect the child. Shelley then looks at what affect neglect can have on the child. The evil which engulfs the monster is directed at Frankenstein as a result of his neglect. I believe that Shelley sympathises with Frankenstein but more with the monster. I believe that Shelley relates to the monster as she felt neglected by her mother, although she died. I believe that she structures the book in a way that portrays this. She gives the reader the most of the book to sympathise with Frankenstein and only allows a smaller part in which the reader can gain sympathy for the monster. However she believes that the monsters grief is far worse than Frankensteins so that even little amount of time novel the reader still feels a greater amount of sympathy for the monster. I too feel compassion toward monster. I believe that someones abuse on the grounds of their appearance is wrong. Everybody should be allowed to express themselves to others and be given the chance to be understood. I also believe that most sympathy falls to Frankenstein because it was not his fault, Frankenstein created him and also neglected him. In my opinion although the monster carried out the murders the reason he did was Frankenstein. Not only did he create him without idea of the possible consequences he also abandoned him and this caused the monster to become evil as a result of his torment. This can be linked back to the doctrine that people were born good. The monsters experience of society has moulded him into something which causes great havoc but truly, inside, he is good. The two segments I will divide the domestic nature-tourism market ar the being There and Embracing Life segments. Comprising of over a quarter of New Zealands adult population, Being There is definitely an specifiable segment which is mammoth and old. A majority of this segment atomic number 18 aged 55 years or older. They havea female majority and a high percentage of people animate alone. This segment is most interested in sightseeing, natural attractions and walking/hiking and meaning it is a responsive segment for the nature-tourism market. As this segment is relatively wealthy, money is less of a barrier to travel meaning that it is a profitable segment .There are m both viable marketing channels that can be used to reach this segment which makes it reachable. These include Major daily newspapers, special media (e.g. gardening channels/magazines/groups), affinity groups (churches, Rotary, otherwise voluntary groups) are all channels that can be used to reach this market.Another segment for the New Zealand nature-tourism market makes up nearly a quarter of the adult population making it a substantial segment, Living Life shares a philosophy to live life to the fullest and embrace nature. Key barriers to travel are the amount of annual part available, work and family commitments. This segment is reachable through channels such as newspaper, media/online (e.g. golf, outdoor, boating, fishing), newspapers and fairs.Question TwoIn order to evaluate how Whale observation towerings product is perceived by potential customers, it is vital to deconstruct the product into four different take aims. This is called the Total Product Concept and we will use this warning to deconstruct the product Whale get a line is offering, and evaluate how the company is positioned within the nature-tourism market.Firstly, the Core Product is the fundamental benefit that responds to a potential customers need or wants (Elliott, Rundle-Thiele Waller, 2010). For Whale pursue the core benefit for a customer would be being able to observe whales in their natural habitat. This could be for recreational or scientific and educational purposes depending on the motive of the customer.Secondly, the Expected Product is the relative factors that delivers the benefit which forms the core product and fulfil the customers most basic expectations (Elliott, Rundle-Thiele Waller, 2010), Whale observatory offers an exciting up-close encounter with the Giant Sperm Whale in their natural environment. In a typical Whale Watch tour, the customer can expect to encounter a wide variety of sea-life and birds. Vessels are crewed by an expert team who are experienced in interacting with the whales. Whale Watch ensures that passenger comfort and preventative are always high priority. These are all expected features of the product/service Whale Watch is offering to customers. The Augmented Product offers a combination of benefits that is not a part of the basic level of needs for the customer. It is at the augmented product level where marketers are able to significantly differentiate their products/services from the competition (Elliott, Rundle-Thiele Waller, 2010). Whale Watch is New Zealands only vessel-based whale watching experience and the 95% success rate of trips at Whale Watch means that they guarantee an 80% refund and is an example of an augmented service that gives a competitive surround over other companies. Furthermore, it is based in Kaikoura, the Whale Watching capital of New Zealand which provides a unique experience over other locations. Whale Watch is committed to the care and protection of the environment and seeks to minimise waste, promote recycling, use eco-friendly product and minimise their impact on marine life (Whale Watch, 2013). These factors are important for customers who really care about then environment and are concerned with conservation and the saving of nature. All these special features and facilities are factors that would help customers to choose Whale Watch over other competitors. The Potential Product of the Product Concept Model comprises all possibilities that could become part of the expected or augmented product. This includes features that are being developed planned as well as features that have not yet been conceived (Elliott, Rundle-Thiele Waller, 2010). In the future, Whale Watch could offer new tours such as swimming with dolphins swimming with whales which would offer a unique, up-and-close, more personal experience. Whale Watch will need to do research on how to postulate this programme to life and keep safety measures in mind.Whale Watch seems to be using a differentiation positioning strategies using conserva tion, nature preservation and a unique approach to attract customers. Whale Watchs positioning statement is used to succinctly convey their philosophies and approachWhale Watch Kaikoura is New Zealands ultimate all year round nature experience offering visitors an exciting up-close encounter with The Giant Sperm Whale (Whale Watch, 2013).We are visitors to the world of the whales and respect it as such at all times. As a Maori owned company, Whale Watch cherishes the twin values of hospitality to visitors and fear for the natural world (Whale Watch, 2013).Question ThreeA service is an act or performance offered by one party to another. They are economic activities that realize value and provide benefits for customers at specific times and places as a result of bringing desired change .One of the unique characteristics of a service is that it is incommensurable meaning the service provider cannot provide exactly the same service either time (Brown, 2008).Applying this to Whale Wa tchs situation, because of the nature of their service, Whale Watch cannot guarantee the same Whale Watching experience to customers for every tour. Depending on seasonal variations or even the weather on a particular day, every trip will offer a different kind of experience. Customers are not guaranteed to be able to see a consistent number of whales and sea-life on every trip because Whale Watch has little control over this factor. In some seasons of the year, certain animals will not appear at all and on certain days no whales may be sighted at all. Because Whale Watch offers a conservative and completely nature-based experience it cannot fierceness a service and experience for the customer. In order to manage these challenges Whale Watch seems to have particular strategies to target and solve these challenges. Firstly, Whale Watch offers an 80% refund if a tour does not see a whale. Furthermore, Whale Watch staff constantly monitor the weather and respond professionally to any c hanges. This could a result in a tour being cancelled or safety restrictions placed on children or passengers with medical problems. This is because Whale Watch wants to promote passenger comfort and safety as their number one priority. Furthermore, Whale Watch would want to decrease the chances of a trip a day with bad weather conditions resulting in zero or minimal whale sightings. The on-board plasma screens display a virtual animated tour while the tour is actually taking place so customers will have a larger than life experience even though there may be inconsistency in actual whale and other sea-life sightings. Also, the professional guides and skippers are there in order to maintain consistency in a service with inconsistent characteristics. Whale Watch will make sure that the staff provide a high level of professional service with passenger safety and comfort as their number one priority. This is evident in their constant monitoring of weather and responding professionally.to any changes.Looking at Whale Watchs philosophy and positioning statement, the company emphasizes that it is Maori owned which has a reverence for the natural environment and is dedicated to conservation, preservation and respect for wildlife. This is a factor that Whale Watch seems to be using to manage challenges of inconsistency of its services. Many customers especially nature-lovers and conservationists will respect the companys philosophies and understand the unavoidable, inconsistent nature of services that Whale Watch is offering.Word Count 1590ReferencesGrewal, D., Levy, M.
